Something For The Weekend – Mother’s Day.

Welcome back to Something for the Weekend! If you are new here have a little look at this introduction which tells you what it’s all about! At the bottom of the page is the linky to posts sharing ideas for Family Fun at the weekend!

It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday. I’m just going to write that again in case Mr Thinly Spread and our lovely children are reading…It’s MOTHER’S DAY ON SUNDAY!

Weather permitting we will be revisiting Lulworth Cove and the Fossil Forest with a large picnic which I shall be BUYING not making! Outrageous, I know but I don’t care! I love being by the sea with my family, I love eating outside and I love the food from our local deli – my idea of a perfect day out.

Saturday will be taken up with the ballet run, music practice for next week’s school show, doing homework so we can have a clear Sunday and shopping in the deli. Any spare time will be spent potting up some more spring containers, planting more seeds, clearing more weeds and generally getting grubby in the garden.

I shall, of course, be curled up with Monty on Friday evening so all in all I have a perfect Mother’s Day weekend planned!

So, what are you and yours up to this weekend? Have you got a post to share to give us all some ideas? Something to do, something to make. something to read, somewhere to go – all are welcome! It doesn’t have to be Mother’s Day related. Old posts or new can be added to the link, we are building up quite a resource bank now! Please link back here in your post, thank you, and grab the badge if you’d like.

  1. Sounds like a wonderful weekend! Have a lovely day on Sunday.

Not sure what we’re doing, but there have been lots of whispers and giggles between the boys so it all seems quite promising!

  2. I spent my first real session in the garden thanks to a mothers day trip to my Grandparents house where she is sadly unable to do the gardening herself. I was 8 years old and have had fond memories of gardening ever since. Sadly she passed away last year but the gardening bug still lives strong, especially around Mothers day. I always buy her a plant and put it near her favourite tree. Thank you for the blog post. Its cheered me up.
